and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.
-1 Corinthians 15:2-7
The Way of the Mandalorian is similar to the way of the Christ-follower. Notice the similarities.
1) Honor is Life: For without honor one may as well be dead.
What does that mean? Really.
The Dictionary defines “Honor” as: Integrity in one’s belief.
You are who you say you are.
The Mandalorian Code says:
It is more honorable to fight and die than to survive through dishonorable means.
In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.
-Hebrews 12:4
How are you doing with that?
1. Are you fighting hard?
2. Are you standing your ground?
2) Strength is life. The strong have the right to rule.
Those who fight and conquer deserve the respect to lead.
Strength of character and will are the ones who should be followed.
Perhaps the reason Christ-followers are no longer being followed is because their lives are no longer that compelling.
What makes you different?
Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
-1 Timothy 4:12
Is there a noticeable difference in your life?
We are not looking for perfection but distinction.
3) Loyalty is essential: Loyalty to one’s own clan.
If one’s actions did not bring honor to one’s clan, he was excommunicated. He was called: Dar-Amanda.
When you are in the middle of a temptation, do you think of honoring your clan? What you post? What you say? Where you go?
Loyalty to one’s clan also includes looking after one’s family.
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
-Galatians 6:10
4) Death. Everyone dies. What matters is how a person dies.
How do you live? What is the posture of your life?
Do you often think of how you can improve someone’s life?
If you see someone in your clan suffering, how do you respond?
“Do for one what you wish you could do for everyone.”
The Creed of the Christ-follower?
Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.
-Matthew 10:38-39
The Christian Creed is a high calling:
The Battle must be won from within before you can be victorious without.
Christian Creed?
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
-1 Corinthians 15:3-4
Once death is defeated—every other enemy is rendered powerless by that One power.
