Devotional Thought
"But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.’” Luke 2:10-11
The angel's proclamation to the shepherds is a message that transcends generations: the arrival of Jesus Christ is good news that brings "great joy." But how can a story over 2,000 years old continue to spark lasting joy in our hearts today?
The joy found in Jesus' birth stems from its scope—He came for all people, regardless of background, status, or circumstances. It’s rooted in God’s love for humanity, a love so profound that it crossed the divide of heaven and earth to bring us salvation.
Christmas joy isn't tied to temporary moments or material gifts; it's anchored in the eternal gift of Jesus—our Savior. His presence offers hope in despair, peace in chaos, and joy in every season of life. As we celebrate this Christmas, may we reflect on the depth of God's love and invite others to experience the joy that Jesus brings.
