Ephesians 6: 2 Kingdoms

Baal: Turns the hearts of men away from God, the Creator, toward creation, created things.

Ashtoreth/Ishtar: Pleasure, Wealth, now Sex.

“Meaninglessness does not come from being weary of pain; meaningless comes from being weary of pleasure.  Pleasure without God, without the sacred boundaries, will actually leave you emptier than before.”

  

Before we mention the third part of the Dark Trinity, we must understand that there is a symbiotic relationship between the dark gods.

Symbiotic: an interdependent relationship

The Third God of Ancient Origins: Molech: The Destroyer!

Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, on the hill that is east of Jerusalem, and for Molech the abomination of the people of Ammon.

And you shall not let any of your descendents pass through the fire of Molech.

Yahweh and Molech cannot co-exist.

And he defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the Son of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter pass through the fire of Molech.

What is this fire? Molech is the spirit and god of child sacrifice.

First Moloch, horrid King besmeared with blood, Of human sacrifice, and parent’s tears, Though for the noise of drums and timbrels loud Their children’s cries unheard, that pass’d through fire To his grim idol.

He had conjured up the fearful idol of an all-devouring Moloch of which he was priest and incarnation.

The Gospel brought an end to inequality and infanticide in the Roman World.

But as the Jesus Movement spread like wildfire throughout the world, all life was seen as a gift from God to be cherished.

Psalm 139 played a huge role in all of this.: You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb…My frame was not hidden from you, when I was made in secret…And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.

  

Has Molech returned to America?

“The spirit of Baal had caused America to believe that departing from God would bring it freedom. The spirit of Ishtar had convinced it that if it abandoned its moral safeguards for instant gratification and sexual abandon, it would find fulfillment. And the spirit of Molech had promised to grant it the blessings of an unhindered life if it would only allow him to take away the children.

What gets celebrated gets repeated.

The similarities between the Pride Parades and the Ancient parade of Ishtar are uncanny.

The description of the festival appears to show the people of the city cross-dressing specifically for the purpose of the celebration. Indeed, the whole thing sounds very like a gay pride parade.

Two: When the gods return, we must make sure that we have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of Darkness.

  

  

Three: During the return of the gods, we must lean into the spiritual disciplines that keep us from falling away.

  

What happened in June is another reminder that whenever a nation or civilization or, for that matter, a life turns away from God, it will never remain neutral. It will never stay empty. It will become indwelled by something else, something other than God. It will become inhabited by the gods. Those who had taken part in the removal of prayer and the Word from American public life would not have imagined what it would lead to. But the empty house could not stay empty. A civilization had turned away from its worship of God. Now the sacraments of a different worship had come in. The door was left open; the house was found empty; the spirits came in; the gods returned and with them, their holy days.
